Why Root Cause

Context shapes the review

Root Cause is a root cause medicine practice built on the idea that medicine is not one size fits all. Clinicians thoroughly assess health information including medical history and relevant clinical context to provide individualized recommendations for interventions.

Condition-based

Health assessment starts from a diagnosed condition and its medical context.

Risk to a diagnosed condition

Addresses a documented risk a clinician ties to a diagnosed condition, including increased risk for developing a related medical condition

More than a transaction

The assessment considers why an intervention may be clinically relevant.

Our Practice

What guides our practice

Root Cause is an independent functional medicine practice. Our clinicians understand how patients can use clinically appropriate functional interventions to treat their diagnosed conditions at the root cause.

01

Independent clinical judgment

Every review and decision rests with a licensed clinician, based on your health assessment.

02

Grounded in evidence

Recommendations are tied to a diagnosed condition and supported by published clinical evidence.

03

Looking beneath the surface

Rooted in functional medicine, we work to understand what drives a condition and address the risk factors a clinician identifies.

What is an LMN?

A short document for medical-necessity review

RCM clinicians are trained to provide letters of medical necessity when indicated. A Letter of Medical Necessity is documentation from a licensed clinician that a product or service is medically recommended to cure, treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed condition, which can make it eligible for HSA/FSA use.
